long-time broadcaster and journalist, michael trenholm launched east coast kitchen party in 2011 as an independent media organization that reports on atlantic canada’s arts, entertainment and lifestyle news. in 2012 a 24/7 streaming radio station featuring east coast music and the music of touring artists “from away” began operations. the growth has been substantial with a combined total market reach on the website and social marketing platforms regularly exceeding 30,000 people every week. the term remains culturally significant for what the intangible cultural heritage (ich) office of the heritage foundation of newfoundland suggests is “living heritage, comprises those non-tangible or physical aspects of a culture that define us.”
