East London Biogas

east london biogas is situated on a 4.7 acre site on the mayor of london’s 60 acre london sustainable industries park (lsip) in dagenham, east london. the location within the m25 and just off the a13 offers a green and cost-effective disposal route for london’s waste. the plant comprises a 29,000 tonne capacity anaerobic digestion facility and a 19,000 tonne capacity in-vessel composting facility. the facility is able to accept a wide range of waste including: - kitchen and garden waste - food waste from catering or manufacturing companies - source segregated municipal solid waste - green waste - category 3 abp animal by-product waste this waste is processed to produce renewable electricity and heat as well as pas 110 accredited digestate and pas 100 accredited compost. the plant was built with funding from the green investment bank, european regional development fund, foresight group and quercus assets selection.
