helping you with all your lighting & electrical needs. our story begins in 1993 with a veteran named named gene quast. hailing from fargo-moorhead, minn., gene moved to east tennessee to start his own lighting business and move closer to his grandchildren. when gene came to knoxville, he discovered that big businesses could get the help they need, but small businesses could not. “we found our niche with small businesses that were being neglected,” gene said. east tennessee lighting began as a small operation, as gene’s background was primarily in lighting. but as time went on, gene also saw that small businesses’ needs electrical weren’t being met. gene began working with professional electricians–quality guys who rewarded loyal customers, worked hard to get the job done and paid attention to detail. after many years with etle, gene was ready to retire and look for someone to carry on the company. in august 2007, he sold the company to frank strubel, our current owner and president. “i
