Eastern Indiana Regional Workforce Board

eastern indiana regional workforce board (eirwb) is one of eleven regional workforce boards in the state of indiana. eirwb is responsible for the planning and oversight of workforce development, in particularly as it relates to economic development in a nine county region referred to economic growth region 6 which is made up of blackford, delaware, fayette, henry, jay, randolph, rush, union and wayne counties. the public face of the regional workforce board is workone. the mission of the eirwb is “ . . . to create strategic alliances that advance the region's economic vitality and to direct a seamless network of services that develops and sustains a highly educated and skilled workforce in eastern indiana.”. the mantra of the body could well be summarized as “thinking locally and acting regionally”. broad strategic goals include: •increase educational attainment of our citizens •create occupational skill shortages through job growth – including new business development through entrepre
