East Madison Community Center

the east madison community center serves children and families from the truax neighborhood and greater eastside. we help area residents achieve goals, gain skills and strengthen the community through education, employment, fitness and socialization. emcc was formed in 1966 out of a community need to expand activities for area youth and adults. today, we are a thriving multi-service center. our mission is to empower people and help them reach their potential by providing access to a wide range of resources, including:  learning opportunities—summer day camps, preschool enrichment programs, after school tutoring and mentoring, fitness programs  family programs—family fun nights, senior programs, parenting resources, alternatives to violence  food resources—food pantry, community garden, after school and summer meals  adult resources—housing options, job placement, computer lab we provide these services through the efforts of a small paid staff and hundreds of volunteers.
