the eating disorders association of south australia, also known as edasa, is a non-government, not-for-profit, incorporated association based in adelaide, south australia. we provide practical advice, empathic support and guidance for those affected by eating disorders in our community. we are committed to providing a respectful, understanding and safe environment for those experiencing the effects of negative body image and disordered eating issues through regular support groups for those in recovery and for their parents and carers. we understand that eating disorders are complicated mental and physical illnesses. however, we believe that with appropriate treatment and a strong personal commitment, recovery is possible. we recognise that every person’s recovery is different, and we believe empathy, compassion and experience are the key components to assist on the road to recovery. edasa is dedicated to educating the community about eating disorders. we provide a variety of resources
