(echo) empowerment of children and human rights organisation is a not-for-profit charitable organization, under section 8 of the ngo act established in 2000 by dr. antony sebastion o. praem, advocate. to empower children in conflict with law and children in need of care and protection, under the indian juvenile justice (care & protection of children) act 2000. echo is the first and the ngo to manage a special home run by the government in india for children in conflict with the law (in the state of karnataka). echo works at prevention of juvenile crimes through community based rehabilitation programmes, conducts child labour surveys, development of community vigilance teams. echo gave voices to thousands of neglected and delinquent children through legal aid, counselling, and releasing children from government observation homes, reception centers and children’s homes. legal proceedings for the transition of children to echo's transitional home and rehabilitation center are undertaken
