eco-shelter is a u.s. based social enterprise changing the way the world builds, one roof at a time. globally, 1.6 billion people lack access to adequate shelter; in india alone, there are more than 350 million people. a roof over your head is one of the most basic human necessities, but current roofing materials available to poor households are expensive, hot, fragile, and can contain toxic elements such as asbestos. with temperatures rising across cities in india, access to cooler dwellings is a matter of survival for millions. we believe every person deserves a safe and dignified place to live and shelter starts with a roof over your head. we are innovating and developing a new industry for affordable, safe, and sustainable roofing with our manufactured bamboo roofing product.
