Ecoast Marine Research

ecoast is an independent research centre specialized in the marine and coastal environment. we offer high-quality applied research and consultancy in the fields of marine ecology, marine environmental studies, risk assessments, monitoring and aquaculture. ecoast combines desk-based research with laboratory and field experiments and monitoring. ecoast was founded at the end of 2009 as an initiative of ghent university, and is based in ostend, at the heart of belgium’s marine community. at ecoast, we combine in-house expertise with the unique scientific knowledge and facilities of ghent university for marine environmental sciences.
