econic technologies is a young, highly innovative, and fast growing chemical technology company located within the imperial innovations incubator at imperial college london. founded june 2011, a spin out from imperial college, econic is currently funded by jetstream capital, imperial innovations and norner verdandi sa. we develop and commercialise novel catalyst technologies that use co2 as a feedstock to manufacture polycarbonates/polymers that contain 30-50% co2 by weight. econic’s catalysts are suitable for use with captured co2. econic works in close collaboration with polymer manufacturers who will become econic’s customers and whose business opportunity will be driven by a combination of product innovation, feedstock cost reduction, supply chain collaboration, and being at the forefront of improving the polycarbonate and polyurethane’s sustainability challenges.
