economic development investment fund (edif) is a non-profit lender established to provide access to capital, financial services, technical assistance and training to small business owners. in partnership with sba, usda and export-import bank, we offer funding to entrepreneurs and microentrepreneurs who are unable to access traditional sources of capital. edif takes an individualized approach to lending, working closely with the businesses to understand their needs, long term plans and growth potential. we aim to support companies who will generate additional jobs or have a positive impact in the community. edif applies flexible underwriting fundamentals, formulates innovative methods to attain collateral and creates loan loss reserves to safeguard invested money and allow efficient repayments.
