economicswisconsin is a non-profit, non-partisan 501(c) (3) charitable organization governed by a board of directors made up of business and professional leaders, and educators. economicswisconsin is the brand name and logo for the wisconsin council on economic education. we began our program in 1963 with the goal to help elementary and secondary teachers gain competence and confidence teaching about our free market economic system. economicswisconsin has worked with teachers, state officials, educational organizations, and businesses to ensure that our state curriculum includes meaningful standards for economic understanding. our efforts provide teachers with access to resources, so they can discover and implement innovative, effective classroom practices and activities. we have also introduced a series called economics for opinion leaders. we reach out and educate wisconsin school board members, journalists, elected officials, clergy, and non-profit agencies.
