ecopoca is a traveling immersive visual art, eco-fashion, & performance art exhibition ＋ panel discussions engaging local communities, and exploring the intersections of relevant ecological crises, and the revival of ancestral eco-wisdom to create an advanced eco-future. past exhibitions have addressed the ongoing fukushima nuclear issue by creating a “ku-kan,” a space to experience the “in-between” - an intersection of two alternate realities — a nuclear apocalypse, vs eco-future. it was a catharsis to transmute our global ecological crisis to envision and co-create a new reality by collectively reviving & celebrating our ancestral eco-wisdom. ecopoca featured 24 artists, musicians, and dancers originating from the local bay area and abroad, using mediums ranging from installation art to dance infused with augmented reality and eco-costumes designs.
