ecosan services foundation (esf) is a section 25 non-profit company established in 2006 with the support of the deutsche gesellschaft für internationale zusammenarbeit (giz) and in association with the innovative ecological sanitation network of india (iesni). in the last years, esf has gained extensive experience in capacity development, policy building, awareness raising, project implementation and consulting in the sustainable sanitation field in south asia. with its innovative courses on sustainable sanitation which follow a participatory, cross-institutional and inter-disciplinary approach, esf won the prestigious “best ngo in water education 2007-2008” award by water digest in association with unesco. followed by national urba water award (2009), iwa project innovation award (2011), dsk energy excellence award(2011) and bangalore world water summit award (2011) to name . esf office has been converted to a eco office with vermin composting, water saving urinals, reuse gardens etc
