ecoviva works in partnership and solidarity with community-led organizations in central america organized to achieve environmental sustainability, economic security, social justice and peace. the vision and implementation of our programs come from our local partners. our principal area of focus is the lower lempa region of el salvador, though we also do some limited grantmaking in honduras and panama. in el salvador, we work closely with the mangrove association, a network of approximately 100 communities living near the bay of jiquilisco biosphere reserve, the largest intact mangrove forest ecosystem left in central america. with our financial and technical support, our local partners are implementing a wide variety of locally-led community development initiatives, including environmental conservation, economic development, youth empowerment, potable water, infrastructure and disaster prevention programs. our community empowerment tours program offers individuals, university groups an
