Ed Giles

(michael ignatieff, 'magnum: degree', 2003:152) ed giles is a photojournalist and videographer, based in sydney when he finds the fortitude to stand still for any length of time. ed has worked in iran, israel/palestine, syria, lebanon, burma, nepal, the caribbean and french polynesia among other corners of the world. his work has been published in australia and internationally, including in the independent, reuters’ “editors choice”, abc news australia, the age, the herald sun and the sydney morning herald. as an extension of his photo and video work ed plays increasingly with forms of “multimedia photojournalism”, seeking ways to extend the power of print-based photojournalism into the online arena. through this maintains close ties with the university of new south
