the power of trust. you can't buy trust. you have to earn it. ed voyles got his start in the automobile business after getting out of the air force in 1945. mr. voyles began selling desoto/plymouth automobiles and within a year was promoted to salesmanager. after five years in that position a bleeding ulcer made him think about starting his own business. in 1952 mr. voyles opened a small used car lot in east point, georgia and five years later he entered the new car business, with an american motors franchise. mr. voyles passed away in may of 2004, leaving the dealerships to his three children. his daughter valery had been hand picked by the family patriarch to run the dealerships. valery plunged into her new role and put her own spin on the operation by investing in new technology and adding franchises. the dealerships grew by adding dodge, kia, and jeep in addition to the existing honda, acura, hyundai, and chrysler. yet even today, ed voyles influences his daughter's philosophy abou
