Edgemont Community Council, Inc.

founded in 1947, the edgemont community council is the large umbrella for all residents of the edgemont community. its mission is to determine community opinion on civic matters, coordinate community action thereon, and to plan and promote the general welfare of the edgemont community. because the town’s council members are elected “at large,” there is no member of the town board directly responsible for representing edgemont’s interests at the municipal level. ecc representatives regularly attend town, planning and zoning board meetings and take positions on traffic, planning, zoning and budget matters at the town level. the ecc is the only common forum representing the entire edgemont community the board of directors includes 15 members-at-large, elected by the general membership at the annual meeting, and the presidents of the local civic associations or their designees. the ecc meets monthly, usually on the first monday of the month in the faculty lounge of the high school. memb
