the edmonton short film festival (esff) is dedicated to the elevation of independent film and the local film community, with a special emphasis on showcasing and supporting alberta film and media artists. the mission of the esff is to provide an opportunity for alberta independent filmmakers to showcase their short projects. the vision of the esff is that we are dedicated to the advancement and education of all alberta independent filmmakers to reach their creative goals. we serve independent filmmakers of all levels by supporting their work and offering training; and the wider community by making indie short films accessible. our programs reach a wide and diverse audience through live events as well as online delivery to remove in-person-event barriers. the films we screen represent the diversity in our community, giving voice to artists and providing opportunities for others to connect through visual storytelling, thus creating empathy through shared stories. our main goal is to sh
