founded in 2007, the educate lanka foundation, inc. is a tax-exempt non-profit organization based in the u.s. under the irs code 501(c) (3). its local operations, office of operations - educate lanka - was registered in sri lanka in 2015 as a non-profit company limited by guarantee. educate lanka, through a non-profit social business mission and model, enhances access to education and employment opportunities for promising young leaders from socioeconomically marginalized backgrounds in sri lanka. educate lanka empowers these young leaders through a unique merger of i) an online peer-to-peer funding platform providing high impact micro-scholarships and ii) a local-level institutional partnership model providing peer-to-peer mentoring and skills development, enhancing their access to education and greater professional networks and workforce opportunities. since its inception, educate lanka has directly impacted nearly 1,000 scholars from all nine provinces of sri lanka by funding over 3
