education is power (eip) is a canadian charitable organization that pays tuition fees for east african students studying at east african colleges, universities, and high schools. many of these youth exhibit great potential to lead their communities to a harmonious future. yet these young people lack the funds to pursue an education. eip has enabled over 100 east african youth to attend school, and evolved to specialize in mentorship, teamwork, and confidence building outside of the classroom. eip runs empowerment programs where alumni and other community mentors engage kenyan youth in various workshops, field trips, and volunteer activities. furthermore, these programs in kenya link to canadian schools via skype video conferencing to broaden global perspectives of young canadians. education is power's mission is to improve access to education that unlocks the potential in african youth, while also connecting people from around the world to foster responsible citizenship. together
