education through music–los angeles' mission is to provide and promote the integration of music into the curricula of disadvantaged schools in order to enhance students' academic performance and creative and general development. education through music-los angeles is an independent 501(c)3 based on the successful etm model (new york, 1991). we believe that every child deserves a well-rounded education: one that includes music. education through music-los angeles puts yearlong, weekly quality music education programs back into disadvantaged schools for every child, including those with special needs. 2006: began programming in los angeles in 2 schools serving 800 children. 2007: etm-la is honored at city hall for our work impacting the lives of los angeles children. 2009: etm-la is featured on knbc with grammy-winning violinist joshua bell. 2010: fox glee & american express members project invite 60 etm-la students to work with the glee cast. 2011: actor/musician ed helms (the office, t
