education to careers (etc) was founded by sarah m. klerk to help students understand why education is necessary for their future success by connecting the dots among school, interests, abilities, training, college and careers. etc materials are created for teachers, mentors and parents who work with students to give them the tools they need to communicate to students the importance of education. etc recently published pass it on: connecting the dots between education, interests and careers. pass it on is a school-to-work discussion tool that fills a long-standing curricular void by describing to middle school students, through research-based facts, the impact that education and training have on life outcomes, including self-sufficiency, future earnings, and happiness. it focuses student learning on critical subjects such as school, abilities, training, college, income and careers, recognizing that college isn’t the only avenue that individuals can take to become highly employable.
