librairie du liban, beirut, lebanon, was founded in 1944, as a bookseller and distributor of longman publications. in 1969, librairie du liban decided to enter the field of publishing dictionaries for the world market. the lexicographers affiliated to librairie du liban worked on famous series of dictionaries such as al mughni, al kamel, khatib's scientific and technical terms, hitti's medical dictionary, abdel massih's lughat al'arab, wahba's dictionaries and other arabic lexicographical works, and the series of arabic and islamic terminology encyclopedias. we promote over 700 dictionaries (monolingual, bilingual and multilingual) and over 2,000 books from children to general books. the educational research center (erc) works for a continuously better education in the arab world. it provides educational services, and produces research-based, field-tested learning materials at all grade levels. erc’s team works closely with various stakeholders, and collaborates with many local
