Educonservation

the educonservation initiative was born in 2015 as sabine plattner identified the urgent need to make nature conservation a core subject in african official curriculums. our objective is to empower a new well-informed and conservation-minded young african generation, encouraging the youth to adopt and promote a responsible citizen attitude in balance with nature. to do so, we support governments with primary and secondary-level educational content that can be readily integrated into the existing school curriculum. to this day, 3 pilot countries benefit from this unique programme : morocco, senegal and the republic of the congo. 6500 activity booklets were distributed for the pilot phase in these countries, allowing thousands of young people to act for our planet and to protect its most fragile ecosystems. as the project develops, more countries are expected to join and more material will be created and adapted to wider age groups.
