Eduvator (South Africa)

eduvator is a social enterprise that empowers citizens to make a direct and measurable impact on the critical situation facing the education system. we find high potential schools-in-need through a network of ngos and use multimedia storytelling to engage and motivate active citizens to pledge money towards solving one of the school’s biggest problems. this is all facilitated through a crowdfunding platform which allows citizens to make a small contribution towards a big change and see the results in real time. eduvator was founded by a group of allan gray orbis foundation fellows who share a concern for the issues facing the south african education system. we identified infrastructural improvement as the means to tackle these issues as it is the easiest way which the average south african can contribute to solving them.
