founded in 1997, eembc (pronounced 'embassy') has its origins as the embedded microprocessor benchmark consortium. as anindustry association, eembc develops benchmarks to help system designers select the optimal processors and understand the performance and energy characteristics of their systems. eembc organizes its benchmarks into 5 catagories: 1) processor benchmarks - including coremark, coremark-pro, multibench (for multicore), fpmark (floating-point), autobench (automotive), denbench (digital entertainment), networking, telebench (telecomm), and oabench (text and image processing). 2) internet of things (iot) - benchmarks targeting performance and energy consumption of the microcontrollers and radio devices going into iot edge nodes. 3) low power - benchmarks including ulpbench for ultra-low power microcontrollers 4) cloud and big data - benchmarks targeting scale-out servers with benchmarks that include memcached and media streaming. 5) phones and tablets - benchmark
