effective altruism oxford is a community of people in oxford dedicated to the principles of effective altruism (ea): using evidence and reason to figure out how to benefit others as much as possible, and taking action on that basis. having originated in oxford, over the last years a strong global intellectual community has developed around the ideas and philosophy of effective altruism that we are proud to be part of. we actively seek to build and sustain a welcoming, inclusive, friendly, enjoyable and empowering community to maximise our collective social impact. we are dedicated to helping oxford students have a greater impact by providing them with i) knowledge about how to make the world a better place, ii) relevant skills, such as increased rationality and productivity, iii) resources, such as an extensive network within the global ea community, as well as by iv) increasing and up-holding their motivation to benefit others effectively. for this purpose, we run events such as high
