the egypt media development program llc (emdp) is a local company working in the fields of media training, consulting and production. the company is built on the belief that without a drastic change in the way media is produced, managed and perceived in egypt positive change will be impossible. emdp is building on the success of the media development program, a usaid project that provided technical assistance to print and broadcast media by training journalists and strengthening media management. as training manager and eventual head of the program, emdp founder and managing director tarek atia participated in training over 5,000 egyptian media professionals between 2006-2011.
