at ehaus we are designing and building passive houses and certifying them to the international ph standard, basically what that will mean for the occupants is a constant indoor temperature between 20-25 deg celsius all year round not just in the lounge but in every room, the humidity is regulated to between 40-60% which is considered optimum. at the same time the amount of active heating required is almost nothing! these homes utilise the heat energy generated daily from cooking, washing, appliances and body heat and with a very efficient balanced heat recovery ventilation system retain & reuse up to 90% of this heat energy whilst replacing the entire volume of air in the home once every 3 hours with fresh outdoor air. the best part is the energy bills can be zero!
