the department of health promotion and administration offers two educational opportunities within its program of health services administration (hsa). b.s. in health services administration option in health informatics and information management (hiim) option in health care management (hcm) the hsa program consists of two years of pre-hsa study (which includes general education and support courses) and two years of core hsa coursework. once admitted into the program, students complete two professional practice experiences (ppes) in a variety of health care organizations. these rotations provide students with observation, supervisory, and administrative experiences. graduates of the health informatics and information management option are eligible to take the national examination for certification as a registered health information administrator (rhia).
