Edinburgh University Mechanical Engineering Society

the mechanical engineering society at the university of edinburgh is an academic and social student-run organisation. the society is open to all, but focuses on those involved with mechanical engineering. the society aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry, through hosting a number of events and providing links to industry. we have held several academic talks from industry representatives and ran cv and cover letter workshops so that our members are best prepared to get that job, internship or scholarship. we are aware that studies can be taxing, and so we do our best to organise social events to allow members to unwind and socialise. in the past, we have organised ceilidhs, pub quizzes/crawls, meals and sporting events, and we hope to build on these next semester and beyond. here at the edinburgh university mechanical engineering society, we take pride in the fact that we encourage members to seek internships, placements and eventually careers within industry and acade
