the edinburgh university european union society is the university’s student society on europe and the european union. founded in 2012, the society hold academic and social events for its members and the university community on all aspects of the eu, europe, its states and peoples. the society is an academic organisation and does not take views on issues. instead, it provides a forum for debate and discussion in which students can express their opinions, debate topics and learn more about them. the society puts on a broad range of activities, including lectures, panel discussions, forums, conferences and debates. past speakers to the society include scottish government ministers, eu member state ambassadors, members of the scottish parliament, members of the european parliament, academics, thinkers, students and campaigners. students at the university of edinburgh can join the society online.
