Economic Development Policy Unit (Edpu)

incubated at oxfam in lebanon, the economic development policy unit (edpu)'s concept originated from the need to coordinate and optimize the impact of different livelihood and social stability projects implemented in lebanon under the eu trust fund (eutf) on ‘support to economic development and social stability in lebanon’ (madad). co-created in 2021 with the eu delegation in lebanon and eutf programme coordinators involved in madad, the edpu has, since then, worked “to strengthen the ability of eutf implementing partners to collectively influence the policy making process and donor funding for lebanon through policy coordination and evidence generation”. the unit has a mandate to regularly assess the policy environment to produce knowledge products and strategic advice impacting livelihoods and economic discourses in the country, using evidence-based research to formulate programme and policy alternatives where gaps are identified. results, to be regularly posted on this platform alon
