welcome to iowa city apparel! the idea of us buying a t-shirt company came in may of 2018 when we were both 20 years old. after contemplating it for a little while, we decided to buy iowa city apparel and all of the inventory from a former student at the university of iowa after he chose to leave iowa city. with no prior business knowledge, we set to work hiring our own accountant, setting up our own business bank account and getting legally filed with the state. on june 1st, 2018, iowa city apparel became an official llc in the state of iowa.as full-time students ourselves, we understood that money runs short while in college so we wanted to make custom shirts affordable for the students at the university. by making our own designs and hand pressing every design on the shirts, we are able to save on production costs which lowers the price for the consumer. only a year and a half removed from when it began, iowa city apparel has done over 35 custom orders for the iowa city ar
