ecoss institute is a social organization (os) aiming to research and preserve the environment, the traditional communities and the archaeological and paleontological sites. it has an agreement with the secretary of culture of the state of mato grosso since 1998, safeguarding a vast archaeological, paleontological and ethnological collection at casa dom aquino natural history museum. the institute is currently responsible for managing the museum, located at casa dom aquino, an important building originally built in 1842 and listed in the state heritage register since 1997.
