in less than 50 years, iota phi theta fraternity, inc ® has grown into a viable force within the african american community. founded during the height of the civil rights movement september 19, 1963 at baltimore's morgan state university, iota has quickly grown into the fifth largest african-american fraternity in the world with over 40,000 brothers and more than 230 chapters. all iota men abide by the principles of scholarship, leadership, citizenship, fidelity and brotherhood. founded in 2001, the alpha mu omega alumni chapter of iota phi theta fraternity, inc ®, is a part of the fifth largest african-american fraternity in the world with over 40,000 brothers and more than 230 chapters. locally, the chapter seeks to fill the overall mission of the organization to provide service to the community by keeping and holding a standard based on our five esteemed principals. if you'd like to learn more about our great organization, please visit our nation website, iotaphitheta.org.
