Ipeľská Únia

the ipeľ union is a not-for profit ngo founded in 1992. our objectives include the preservation and revitalisation of the natural and cultural heritage of the ipeľ river catchment area, support rural development and local community capacity building through education and training. all our activities are focused on education, the environment, culture, capacity building, rural development and tourism. the ipeľ union also has a planning and managing role in the local ramsar site, which is a world recognised wetland. we work in a disadvantaged region having a peripheral character due to its location in the slovak-hungarian border region.for 15 years, ipeľ union has been hosting leonardo da vinci (ldv) mobilities on traditional crafts for applied art & design students, placements of environmental students form the uk as well as archaeology placements. 10-12 trainers a year come to slovakia for cultural training & interpretation.
