ipieca is the global oil and gas industry association for environmental and social issues. established in 1974 in response to the formation of the united nations environment programme (unep), ipieca remains the industry’s principal channel of communication with the un. our membership is broad and includes all of the supermajors as well as national oil companies, independent producers and regional and national industry associations accounting for roughly half the world’s oil production. ipieca members work together to address a wide range of issues within three themes: climate and energy, the environment, and social responsibility.
