irish food incubator the shanghai pilot free trade zone project was approved at a state council meeting presided over by premier li keqiang on 3 july 2013, which will catapult the city to the forefront of global logistics centers. the project, occupying 28 square kilometers, will center around the yangshan deep water port. the free trade zone will provide world-class transport and communications facilities and a tax-free environment for domestic and foreign enterprises as a major hub of their supply chains in asia. while the irish food showroom project is a chinese government initiative, the irish showroom is a direct commercial response resulting from the visit of president xi jinping to ireland last year, and the subsequent return visit by the taoiseach enda kenny and mr simon coveney minister of agriculture, marine and food in 2012.
