Irish Society for European Law

isel was founded in 1973 as an association of practising and academic lawyers dedicated to promoting the study and practice of european law in ireland. it does this through the organisation of public lectures and workshops on issues of current interest in european law, the organisation of regular sessions of its competition law and procurement law fora and the publication of the irish journal of european law. isel is the irish affiliate of the fédération internationale pour le droit européen (fide). isel's president is the honourable frank clarke, chief justice of ireland. the society hosts seminars and conferences on an ongoing basis on current topics falling within the scope of european law.
