irockit has been created to help children and adolescents with special needs and mental health problems. special needs is an umbrella term and constitutes a range of issues, of varying severity, which may include learning, developmental, behavioural, sensory, locomotor and other physical and neurological conditions that impact a child’s productivity and quality of life. statistically, 1 in 5 indian children are impacted. most can be helped significantly but unfortunately only a minority get the care they deserve. the heartening thing to see is that public awareness is increasing and the government and school boards are taking proactive steps to ensure children get identified and accommodated in mainstream schools. but there is still a long way to go. irockit addresses 2 major issues plaguing the special needs sector. the first is information on qualified and experienced practitioners and institutions who work with special children. this includes special educators, psychologists, counse
