iron girl project, inc. (igp) supports high school, student athletes, in their journey to create a positive legacy, one which has an impact on their teammates, families and communities. through a yearly application process, the organization awards a limited amount of financial scholarships to high school student athletes who demonstrate true grit, cherish teamwork and exhibit leadership on and off the athletic field. igp honors alexea “lex” karpinski. lex believed that obstacles could be overcome and she was determined to conquer them no matter how big or small. she felt strongly that being a part of team means that you work together as one, lifting each other up, winning and losing together on and off the field. in her quiet, humble way she lead by example. lex, an aspiring college athlete, lacrosse and field hockey goalie, girl scout, st. hubert's animal welfare volunteer, backyard gardener and dog mama was known for her true grit, teamwork and leadership.
