is the third sector sexist? is a collective of women in the charity/third sector seeking to investigate, uncover, and address sexism in our industry. in the light of the #metoo and #timesup movements, and the scandals involving the president’s club and oxfam, we are calling on the third sector to hold itself to account. the project so far involves a survey and research project, which will generate evidence and recommendations for organisations across our sector. in addition, we are reaching out to industry bodies, media, and key influencers to raise awareness of the issues and raise awareness of our findings. we have been communicating with bbc journalists, academics, and industry leaders, among others. we take all decisions collectively, and the future direction of the project will be determined as a group. we all work on the project on a voluntary basis outside of our day jobs.
