welcome to the isaca trinidad & tobago chapter. the chapter was started in december 1986 by lennox brown with the support of his professional colleagues who were principally msc. accounting graduates from the university of the west indies. the inspiration for starting the local chapter was sparked in 1983 by a research paper that lennox brown was writing as part of his msc. accounting requirements. the research paper evaluated the state of “edp auditing ” in the trinidad and tobago external auditing environment. during his research he discovered the “edp auditors association”, (now isaca), whose membership was focused on the practice of edp auditing. mr. brown requested that he take the cisa exam under the supervision of the uwi and passed the exam in 1987. mr. brown was the first caribbean national to pass the exam outside the us and this was the first time that the exam was held in the caribbean and possibly outside the usa at that time. the chapter started with approximately 10 memb
