created in 1953, the international student identity card is the only internationally accepted proof of full-time student status. the isic card is currently issued in over 130 countries and gives access to more than 42,000 discounts and benefits worldwide for approximately 5 million cardholders each year. we also offer a youth card for those under 30 (the iytc) and a teacher card for full time teachers (the itic). the isic association is the non-profit organisation behind the isic card. through the wide range of opportunities available to cardholders, the isic association aims to play a supporting role in improving intercultural understanding, increasing educational opportunities and facilitating student life across the world. the isic card is endorsed by organisations such as unesco, unwto, the european council on culture and the andean community of nations. the card is recognised by universities, academic institutions, student organisations, national governments and ministries of ed
