ivv was founded in 1957 and to this day is the only worldwide association representing the interests of professional driving instructors, driving schools and their associations. since its launch more than 50 years ago ivv has continued to represent the interests of professional driver and rider trainers across the world. over the five decades in which ivv has been operating, new driver and rider educational methods and curricula have been implemented in numerous countries with great success, and conferences have been held in many parts of the world to share best practice and develop new approaches to driver and rider education. achieving united nations consultative status in 1995 allowed many important new contacts to be made worldwide and we regularly consult on driver education and road safety issue internationally through forums such as the european transport safety council, eu etc. the headquarters of the ivv is based at the offices of the president in the uk. the president acts as
