J. P. Pant Cultural Trust

the trust is in the name of late sh. janki prasad pant who worked closely with bharat ratna pt. govind ballabh pant in uttarakhand and later in the central government in delhi. jppct was set up as a registered non-profit charitable public trust by family members and a number of academics, artists, and doctors. the basic objective of the trust is to promote traditional cultural and educational systems and, in particular, help in the revival of theatre. here, one specific objective is to bring to urban audiences traditional village and rural theatre in a genre more acceptable to the urban youth. it is also hoped that the trust would also be able to develop a fund which could help struggling theatre/dance artists by establishing scholarships. we also engage in educational and philanthropic activities and try our best to promote the welfare of our society.
