we can trace the long braden family history of working with glass in the lehigh valley, beginning with jack’s grandfather, john “jack” braden, along with his wife, mary, starting in 1914. according to his diaries from the early 1930s, the business was called lehigh glass & mirror works, with stores in bethlehem, allentown & easton. subsequently, his sons, carl & william continued the business until 1970, when it was sold to shatterproof glass co. from detroit, michigan. carl’s son, john (jack), continued working for the new owners while attending moravian college, before moving to tamaqua, pa and working for glass specialty in hazleton, pa for a short time. on june 9, 1976, jack and his wife, donna, decided to marry her passion for business with his skill for auto & flat glass, forming jack’s glass. the business continues today, serving customers, both in our shop and by mobile vans in a 20 mile radius of our corporate location at 414-432 n. madison st. in allentown, pa. we are mos
