Jackson Madison County School System

public school system in madison county that encompasses the city of jackson tennessee. it has just over 13,000 students in the district with over 1,000 employees. the school district is the second largest employer in the city. the district has one blue ribbon school which is madison academic magnet high school along with four other high schools, five middle schools and 15 elementary schools. it has 43 different career and technical teachers offering a full range of vocational courses. there are three reward schools in the district that include madison academic magnet high school, south side high school and denmark elementary. the district has recently embarked upon the vision 2020 initiative that is currently analyzing district resources, facilities and innovative design in order to create a more efficient and effective mode of operation to ensure that all jackson-madison county students have the benefit of all the resources needed to guarantee the best educational experience possible.
